It is hard to keep up with technology these days and that is certainly the case with the latest trends in the world of android TV boxes. An android TV box is a small device about the size of a calculator or slightly bigger that runs on the android operating system. They are made to be connected to your TV and run via your internet connection either via WIFI or Ethernet cable and this allows you to stream content directly to your TV from the android box. It does not matter what sort of TV is in use as the android box does all of the work and the TV is merely used as a display monitor.
There have been many versions of android released including the popular kitkat 4.4 operating system which was later upgraded to android 5.1 lollipop and then on to android 6.0 marshmallow. A lot of android boxes are still being sold with the older version of android 4.4 and it is important to note that many apps will not work on this older version of android. Android 7.0 now has been released and the race is on to get them on to the boxes themselves. It is now the case that every few months a new version of android is coming out which means that customers will have to upgrade the box to keep up to date with the latest releases of the various software.
I would not rush out and buy a box just for android 7.0 just yet as it will take a while for it to iron out some glitches before it becomes perfect for running new releases from the various apps. So if you are in the market for an android box we would recommend anything with android 6.0 or android 7.0 to make sure you are not out of the date by the end of the year!
